Biography

  Born in Voorburg on January 27th 1937 as the daughter of Elly Richard, painter, and Bernard Blom, engineer.
  Attends the Montessori Lyceum in Rotterdam (1948-1954)
  Attends the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague (1954-1967)
  Wins the first prize in a competition for a tile commemorating the tenth anniversary of the liberation of Holland. The tile is produced in a run of 20,000 copies. (1955)
  Attends the State Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam.(1957-1959)
  Marries the medical student Eylard van Hall, now emeritus professor of obstetrics and gynaecology at the Leiden University Medical Cent. (1959)
  Her children Eric, Jurriaan and Eva are born. (1960, 1962, 1966)
  Shares the Jacob den Hartogh Material Award with the Belgian sculptor Jules Vermeire. (1969)
Spends a year with the family in the United States; takes a course in new materials at the Corcoran Gallery in Washington D.C. (1969-1970)
  Moves to Noordwijk, where she has lived and worked since. (1972)
  Daughter Eva dies. (1974)
  Starts paying frequent working visits to Pietrasanta, Italy (Studio Sem). (1979-2012)
